BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $63 million at its Feb. 28 public bid opening, according to Gov. Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $20,789,428.80, Diamond B Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Vernon Parish calling for road base reconstruction, replacing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, concrete bridges and related work on La. 28 from La. 121 to La. 465.
