BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will hold a public meeting on the Joor Road reconstruction project on Monday, April 16, from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Central Branch Library at 11260 Joor Road in Central.

Representatives from DOTD and Denton-James LLC will be in attendance to provide information about the project and answer any questions.

“We want to be proactive in delivering information about this project to the public and let them know that we will be available to answer any questions they have throughout the project,” said DOTD Customer Service Manager Peggy Bueche. “Customer service is an important part of the job we do at DOTD, and having an open dialogue with the people we serve plays a big part in helping us serve them better.”

The project consists of replacing the existing 3.1-mile, two-lane section of Joor Road between Jones Bayou and Hooper Road with a 5-lane road. This includes two lanes in each direction and a center turn-lane. The two and a half year project also includes the construction of two new bridges at the Comite River and Comite River Relief. Current work consists of installing new drainage pipe along the construction route.
