BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $73 million at its Sept. 26 public bid opening, according to Gov. Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $12,952,021.87, Madden Contracting Co. Inc., Minden, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Bossier Parish calling for installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on I-20 from the Fifi Bayou Bridge to the U.S. 80 overpass.
