BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $67 million at its Oct. 10 public bid opening, according to Gov. Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $37,725,272.10, James Construction Group LLC, Baton Rouge, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in Winn Parish calling for installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, concrete slab span bridges, traffic signals and related work on U.S. 167 from La. 1236 to the Jackson Parish line.
