BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will conduct an open house public hearing on Tuesday, June 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to discuss the Draft Environment Assessment (EA) for the proposed widening of La. 311 in Terrebonne Parish.
The hearing will be held at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center, located at 346 Civic Center Boulevard in Houma, La.
The proposed project would widen approximately 3.6 miles of La. 311 from two to four lanes with a median from Savanne Road to St. Charles Street (La. 664).
Detailed information relative to the project is available through the Draft EA, which is available on DOTD’s Web site at www.dotd.la.gov/planning/environ/. The Draft EA is available for review and/or purchase at the DOTD District 02 office, located at 1440 U.S. 90, Bridge City, La. The Draft EA is also available for review at the following locations:
- Terrebonne Parish Library Main Branch, 151 Library Drive, Houma, La.
- East Houma Library Branch, 778 Grand Caillou Road, Houma, La.
- DOTD Environmental Section office, located at 1201 Capitol Access Road, Room 504D, Baton Rouge, La.
- Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Division office, located at 5304 Flanders Drive, Suite A, Baton Rouge, La.
The purpose of the hearing is to provide information about the project and obtain input from interested parties. Detailed information on the Draft EA will be presented at the public hearing, including project alternatives, information on wetlands, right-of-way acquisition and relocation assistance. In addition, there will be a looping presentation and handouts regarding the proposed project.
Representatives from DOTD will be in attendance to answer any questions and record oral comments. Written comments may also be submitted at the hearing or may be mailed, postmarked within ten days following the hearing date, to the following address:
