DOTD to hold public meeting in Lafayette for State Historic Bridge Study Project

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), in coordination with the Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office and the Federal Highway Administration, has commissioned a project to study historic bridges that are on the DOTD inventory and to develop a process to manage and preserve these valued resources.

Mead & Hunt, a national consulting firm that specializes in historic bridges, will assist in the preparation of the Historic Bridge Inventory. Additional information, updates, and a downloadable form for sharing information about bridges in your community are available on the project website at: http://www.dotd.la.gov/administration/public_info/projects/historicbridges/

A public presentation is currently scheduled for Wednesday, October 3, 2012 – 7:00pm, Lafayette Parish South Side Library, 6101 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA 70503.

Interested individuals and groups are invited to attend. Refer to the project website for updates and additional information.
