NEW ORLEANS, La. – Today, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) temporarily suspended ferry service between Algiers Point and Canal Street to make an emergency repair to the Motor Vessel Armiger.
The repair to the starboard main engine requires a part that is not available locally and had to be sent overnight. Ferry service could be interrupted through tomorrow afternoon, but a firm estimated time of completion has not yet been determined. DOTD Ferry Maintenance will know more once the part arrives.
DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience and will make an announcement once the vessel is ready to resume service.
