DOTD Announces Results of September 8, 2004, Bid Letting

BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling over $13 million at its September 8 public bid opening, according to Governor Kathleen Blanco and DOTD Secretary Johnny B. Bradberry.

With a bid of $7,389,509.44, Diamond B. Construction Co., LLC, Alexandria, was the apparent low bidder on the state’s most expensive job, a project in St. Tammany Parish calling for clearing and grubbing, grading, cold planning asphaltic concrete, drainage structures, pavement patching, superpave, and related work on I-12 from the East end of the Bayou Lacombe Bridge eastward approximately 12 miles to the junction of I-10/ I-59.

            Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

            Jefferson – Grading, base course, superpave asphaltic concrete overlay, pavement patching, and related work at the Bayou Segnette State Park, Barriere Construction Co., LLC, Boutte, $492,267.10.
