DOTD to change Sharp Road merge

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will modify the Sharp Road merge on Friday, Oct. 27, to a right-to-left merge.

DOTD decided to change the original design of a left-to-right merge to a more common right-to-left merge because of citizens’ suggestions.

The change will take place on Sharp Road where it merges from two lanes to one—just north of Old Hammond Highway.

New signage will be placed on the roadway by Friday to notify drivers of the change.
